Call for proposals

Call for proposals

We are pleased to announce that the call for closed panels, roundtables, and individual papers is open from 2 November 2026 to 15 January 2027.

Descriptions

Individual papers

Accepted individual papers, not part of a closed panel or a roundtable session, will be presented as oral presentations.

Closed Panels

These are pre-organised sessions consisting of 3-4 paper presentations. Each presenter typically has 20-25 minutes to deliver their paper, followed by 5-10 minutes for discussion.

Roundtables

These sessions are pre-organised discussions where a group of scholars (usually up to five) engages in a dialogue on themes or issues of broad academic interest, with an audience present. While participants may give brief contributions (5-10 minutes), the goal is to foster a dynamic debate rather than focus on individual presentations.

The programme will be finalised no later than 5 May 2027.

Submission guidelines

  • All submissions must be made via the Oxford Abstracts online submission system. Please register with Oxford Abstracts to submit your abstract. See instructions below.
  • The title should be written in sentence case: only capitalize the very first word of the title.
  • All abstracts must be written in English and the body text is limited to 300 words. Do not include references. Please proofread your submission carefully.
If you are submitting a roundtable proposal or a closed panel proposal, please submit an abstract describing the scope and unifying issues that span the individual papers for the panel/roundtable. Proposals may be submitted before all presenters have been confirmed. However, all presenters must submit their own abstracts by the submission deadline and indicate on the submission form which closed panel or roundtable their abstract is associated with.
  • For individual papers, list the names of all authors. For closed panels and roundtables, use the author fields to enter the organiser(s), not the presenters. Provide affiliations, including institution, city, and country. Use the tick box to indicate the presenting author(s) or the main organiser.
  • Please provide 3-5 keywords that best describe your submission, e.g. topic, time period, theoretical concepts, methodological approach, or source material.
  • Complete all required fields in the submission form and click “Submit” to finalize your submission.
  • After submitting, you may log in again to edit your submission until the final submission deadline.
  • Please note that incomplete abstracts will not be reviewed.
  • Acceptance information will be sent to the submitter only. Additional correspondence may also be sent to the presenting author/main organiser (if different from the submitter); their email address will be requested on the submission form. If you need to change the presenting author/main organiser, please notify events@certia.fi.
  • Note that the author(s) marked as the presenting author(s), or roundtable/closed panel organisers must register as conference participants and pay the registration fee by 25 April 2027.
  • Accepted abstracts will be published in the online programme on the website.
  • Guidelines for accepted presentations will be published in the spring 2027.
